African Finest Flowers at HORTI CHINA 2018

The four major African flower producing countries of Ecuador, Colombia, Ethiopia and Kenya will be showcased at the World Floral Expo China (HPP exhibitions) and HORTI CHINA at the Shanghai National Exhibition and Convention Center, November 21st -23rd.

According to the World Flower Map from the Royal Netherlands Research Institute, Africa leads global flower production, Europe imports the highest quantity of cut flowers, and China stands as both a top producer of roses and importer of foreign plants. Chinese major imports of African flowers arrive to major ports such as, Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou. From there, flowers are transferred across the country to be sold domestically or on the foreign market. The Belt and Road Initiative has optimized cross-continent transportation supply channels between Asia and Africa and given rise to a demand for flowers and agricultural products in China. Africa maintains its leadership position in flower trade due to ideal soil, climate, and water conditions. Under President Xi’s global trade vision and Africa wide investment plans, China’s collaboration with Africa’s top exporters is projected to increase significantly.

The World Floral Expo China (HPP exhibitions) will be presented at China fastest growing international horticultural exhibition HORTI CHINA that focuses on flower seedling cultivation, planting technology, and horticultural facilities. Visitors will have opportunities to see a wide variety of roses, lilies, gypsophila, gerbera, gladiolus, hydrangea, among many others. The event also facilitates business and technical exchange and for the entire horticultural industry chain from breeding, planting, post-harvest, gardening facilities, vegetables, and fruits. The exhibition covers 27,000sqm and expects more than 400 participating companies.
